For now, yes.

I imagine the new skills will become locked after this weekend anyway.

Yep, I still have my Elementalist skills too, but I doubt I'll keep them for long. Maybe they'll be removed after the preview.

Rt is ritualist so the R was a ranger. It is just a huge glitch that slipped through Anets fingers.

I probably wouldn't go so far as to call it a "glitch that slipped through anet's fingers"... I mean, after all, this is the Faction preview event weekend, which is, in many ways, a public beta. Part of the reason for a public beta is so that the public can do things with your program that your devs may not have thought of - trust me, every time a bug report is made, esp. for a circumstance like this one, it goes into a database of things to test for the next iteration. Anyone notice that Factions players can't get to a guild hall? Largely due to the "observer mode" guild hall exploit of a few months back, I'd wager. Lesson learned, lesson applied. Public betas are designed so that the devs can see that the game is playable, as well as, with help from the public, determine those places where things don't go as planned. For those who discovered this and reported it, well done. Its through efforts like yours that we have an awesome game to play, and its because of folks like you that the devs can do their jobs and do them well.

If a way around something is possible, the players will find it, and do just that. Public Beta events like this are perfect for this sort of thing, alot of bugs and things like this that should not be happening may not be noticed for awhile if it weren't for us and the people who report those bugs directly to them or on boards like this

It's better that it isn't known in my honest opinion. Let them fix it and move on.

Just wondering, but did you guys keep your Factions skills?

I deleted my Elementalist, he wasn't worth it, so I just wondered

Just curious, what did people do with this glitch?

Randomly pair up with people to show off? Get to post-searing ASAP? Kill all the Charr across the wall?

What you could do with:
- Absolutly own Pre-Searing (you could even get to the Northlands with a Warrior or Ranger when you're on your own).
- Have skills from different proffesions (Rebirth on a R/Me for example isn't all that bad).
- Have skills from Faction while it's not even released, giving you an advantage in both PvE and PvP.
- Have an incredible boost in PvE, already having a full set of high end skills, including an Elite skill at the beginning of the game.

I still have all the skills, but they have the 'Locked' symbol and status that I imagine a Factions character would have had after the PvP event. I still have presearing Fiends and Rotting Flesh.

As I said earlier, the biggest threat of the glitch would be a non-monk having taken the monk set; having no-attribute rebirth for PvE - which I imagine would still be working.

there was a time long long ago, when that glitch went on untouched, ectos and shards rained galore for only 250g ea. it was a very dark time. While the few celebrated, many had suffered.

Wow, you could actually get GOLD with that glitch. And with gold you sure can own in PvP!

I'd love Rebirth on something that isn't Monk (primary or secondary), and I won't get that with gold, no matter how much I have.

I think the best was with Thunderclap. Unlimitted knockdowns, can't even cast RoF or CoP

Yeah, people got rich off of that, even if they only had like 10k or so. I guess it wasn't such a debacle that ANet didn't do a rollback.

If ANet hadn't done the rollback and people did have all those rare crafting materials, I wonder if they ever stopped to think that it would also be worth a lot less, not like 5-10k.

But yeah, Testing Weekend means a lot of people will be exploiting glitches, etc.
